Our partnership is founded in collaboration and centers the needs of DVC’s students above all else. What began as simple print design projects has evolved to campus-wide environmental graphics, eLumen Course Catalog and website design and development upgrades. We continue to act as communications capacity support to DVC to both its Pleasant Hill and San Ramon Campuses.

Design for Way-finding
Many of Diablo Valley Colleges buildings look similar and blend with the trees that surround campus. Students were having a difficult time finding their classrooms so we worked with DVC’s marketing department to apply brand colors and graphics to the various departments to help guide the way.

DVC’s student body is composed of many multilingual learners and their collateral materials needed to be more accessible. We worked together to update their Viewbook, their College for Kids brochure and created a variety of evergreen templates that would be able to be used in both English and Spanish.

Increasing Accessibility
Accessibility compliance is never a checkbox and then you are done activity. It takes ongoing iteration, support, and thoughtfulness to make sure website visitors feel seen and cared for. rootid partnered with DVC to support their website’s continued evolution, updating components and adding gTranslate so the site now has machine translations available for multiple languages. As we continue to support this website and will test and add new functionality to meet the needs of DVC’s diverse student body.
CUSTOM ELUMEN DEVELOPMENT
Online Course Catalog
Sharing information about the upcoming courses, college policies and enrollment procedures is never a simple endeavor. We partnered with DVC to update their eLumen Online Catalog, updating template and implementing custom styling to match their newly launched website.
